Performance characteristics of high density polyethylene
2023-08-03
High-density polyethylene direct-buried insulation pipe is made of high-density polyethylene material, which has extremely high mechanical strength and excellent corrosion resistance. It can protect the pipe from damage caused by external factors during transportation, installation and use. High-density polyethylene has the following characteristics:
1. Excellent wear resistance, the wear resistance is 7 times that of carbon steel;
2. Small friction coefficient and good non-adhesion;
3. High impact strength, especially excellent low-temperature impact resistance, which is the highest among currently known plastics;
4. Excellent chemical stability; except for a few solvents that are corrosive to it, common inorganic and organic acids, alkaloids, salts and organic solvents are not corrosive to this material. Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene is similar in chemical stability to polytetrafluoroethylene and is an inert material.
5. Excellent anti-aging performance. Under natural sunlight conditions, the aging life of high-density polyethylene is 50 years.
High-density polyethylene products are widely used in metallurgy, electric power, petroleum, textile, papermaking, food, chemical industry, machinery, electrical and other industries, and are known as magical plastics.
